Passion fruit has the longest supply window in our fruit range, which makes it useful for keeping delivery rhythm between the seasons of other items.
Growing conditions
Vines are trained on trellises in the Lam Dong highlands. Mild temperatures year-round let the crop flower in several flushes, so an orchard can be picked continuously rather than in one short burst.
Season
Harvest runs almost year-round, peaking June to November. In the quieter months volumes fall but do not stop.
Cultivation and picking
Trellis management, pruning and disease control are the three things that decide yield and how long a planting lasts. Member households keep input and pre-harvest interval logs as they do for other crops.
Fruit is picked on skin colour and firmness. For processing, fruit is taken riper to reach better Brix and juice colour.
After harvest
Fresh fruit is graded by size and appearance, then packed. Fruit for processing is de-juiced, filtered and frozen — with or without seeds, depending on the customer requirement.
